Thanks very much, Henry. I think unease is inherent in surrealism. It's the scrambling of what we know are are comfortable with. And Dada never shied away from shock. And you ARE a good little artist. :-)

I like, how you express emotions.You give always something 'plus' to your works.Not only a drawing, but an expression of something.This guy on the picture is upset and...empty.I find great, how you show his sadness to us.Great work.

I'm very pleased you find something beyond the surface, Angela. It is always my aim to try to get at the essence of the thing -- whether a person, an object or an idea. I can't explain the process that well. It evolves and springs each time as I do the work.

What is the surface? It's interesting. In college I did a dark heavily varnished and layered collage of a man with a large nose and yellow eyes. The red bullet hole was in his chest. I still have it.

Two different faces joined. It makes me uneasy to look at because my eyes keep shifting from one side of the face to the other--not able to bring them together. Very effective.
